This week Furniture Fashion focused our attention on the Pianca line of Italian made contemporary furniture and revealed to our readers some original outstanding designs. Here is a very light and refreshing shelving unit that works so well as a bookcase against the wall or as a room divider floating in the middle of two rooms to create individual environments. The "Unless" shelving unit makes a nice statement without being heavy and ominous and features a doubled sided face with natural wood and glossy lacquer finishes. Pianca is one of my favorite modern furniture manufacturers that has evolved over the past 60 years with a "made in Italy" pride that is obvious in every piece.

The Expect cabinet was designed and created after some research on the experiences and expectations on interior furniture products. This is another most unique piece by Oooms which offer four different storage compartments all in a simple unassuming compact cabinet. I really like the bent metal structure that utilizes two back legs eliminating the front ones. Made of MDF and Steel 130x 70 x 40 cm Available Here

Here are two very unique storage cabinets from Oooms that are quite creative in function and design. The Rebellious Cabinet 1 which always has two of its drawers open responds when a push is given. The drawers can't be closed at the same time and a simple push will send the closed drawer open. Beech Wood and Steel 100 x 120 x 40 cm The Rebellious Cabinet 2 has a completely different look but works the same way. This smaller storage unit may be perfect in a bedroom setting, extra storage in a bathroom, or as a buffet sideboard in your casual dining room. 100x 120 x 40 Available Here

Scala del cielo translates into English as "scale of heaven". That is an apt description of these beautiful Italian glass shelves from Tonelli of Italy. I really like the simplicity of the shelves, the fact that they are petite, and that they gradually climb upwards. I find them more so a decorative item than that of a storage solution. Measurements: 120 x 24 x 118 cm; thickness: 12 mm; weight: 26 kg. Available: Here.

Kurl is a combination of 5 glass shelves that form a shelving unit for storage. Each shelf is painted transparent glass. Colors include pink, metal brown, and green. I find this particular ensemble intriguing. I am not sure how much weight I would put upon since it is made of glass and the pieces rest upon one another. I do think that it would add a cool touch of color in the right contemporary home. Price: $5,000. Available: Here.
