The Beehive is an arrangement of bookcases and shelves that is shaped like a honeycomb. This shape is probably known universally to man as it is associated immediately with the honey bee. Each piece is a hexagon that is that is arranged in a clever format to create an overall "object d'art" appearance in a room. There is detail inside each shape where the material is a thinner creating the feel of a honeycomb. Steamer trunks offer a great weathered look that can add character in the right home setting. Steamer trunks were popular from 1880-1920 as a form of luggage due to their large storage capabilities. Traveling was not as quick as it is today and also travelers took more outfits on average than today. These pieces feature cigar leather or brushed steel with great detail in the locks, end-pieces, stitching, and nail head trim. They are constructed of a wooden frame. More information: here.

The Cartesia bookcase is designed to fit your lifestyle by allowing you to create what is important to you. There are many components that can be created in the module. One of my favorites is the pull out bar drawer. This is a great way to keep the "good spirits" tucked away and yet have them handy after a hard days work. The media storage drawer is also neat where you can store CDs in an organized manner. I have trouble today putting my hands on the CD I want to hear so this would help me a great deal having such visibility to my music. The Factory storage unit can be put together, combined, separated, and stored as completely flat units and features 4mm laser cut steel in graphite gray or bright white with durable melamine, luster laminate, or veneer exterior. I really like the fact the components may be hung on the wall for extra storage anywhere, and if that's not possible there are wheels to accommodate any need for transporting. Over at DesignBoom they ran an interesting post from the Singapore Furniture Fair where they showcased products from the Air Design Group. One product that caught my eye was a concealed bookshelf. It almost looks like a drawer on its side or a part of a wall. Inside, when the drawer is pulled out, it reveals a hidden bookshelf and light. There is a separator on the right hand side of the drawer which serves as a bookmark for the book you wish to "tuck away". Via: DesignBoom.
