Bridgeport is a small cabinet table offered by David Edward. This piece of furniture has two pull-out sections. The first is a storage drawer that is coated in laminate for easy cleaning should you need store things that may require cleaning from time to time. The second handle leads to a leave that comes out that acts as a writing surface. This is a neat feature if you need to write things such as if this were a bedside table. Interestingly enough, the design roots of this table were intended to be used as a nurse's bedside table. Notes could be taken on the leave while other items are stored in the drawer. Bridgeport is constructed of maple wood and features drawer handles that are ADA compliant. Dimensions: 22"l x 22"w x 30"h. More information: here.

Hickory Chair has reproduced the "tiger striped" maple serpentine chest of drawers from H F du Pont's personal collection originally commissioned in the late 1700's with their release of the Winterthur series. The dramatic shape of the brass appointed solid maple drawers offers a classically inspired look which can be modernized with your choice of stains and painted finishes. Hickory chairs "made to order" options allow you to customize each of their items including hardware with regard to your décor. Of course the shape of the serpentine drawer fronts are priced at a premium but this is not a quick fix item, rather an addition that exudes quality and made to last. The Hickory Chair collection is vast, and covers traditional furniture and accessories for every room of your home. 35.5"H x 43.75"W x 21"D Appx. $6200+
In today's world it is seldom that you find handmade furniture due to the advancements in manufacturing and technology. It is much cheaper and faster for upholstered furniture to be constructed using cost effective techniques rather than "bench made" one at a time. Handmade techniques are very labor intensive and as a result end with higher prices due to the many hours of human production time, but the product is more structurally sound and detailed. Featured here are some wonderful traditional sofas by E.J. Victor. You can imagine the labor and detail that goes into the manufacturing of each of these pieces. More information and pricing can be obtained at E.J. Victor.

In addition to the sofa being the center piece in a living room, there is usually extra space that is perfect for occasional chairs. Extra seating can compliment the look of the living room by bringing out different colors or tying together colors between your paint and furnishings. If you are a fan of traditional design then you have probably heard of E.J. Victor Furniture. E.J. Victor was founded in 1990 and is dedicated to manufacturing its products by hand. Scott Thomas's traditional lines of hand made, hand finished furniture fulfill the discriminating taste for those who are seeking furniture that is not mass produced, but rather unique and decorative. The Sinuous occasional collection by award winning designer Charles Sutton "takes on the appearance of life in motion through a variety of unexpected twists and turns, waves and curls." The Sinuous series features hand-cut inlaid brass, geometric parquetry patterns of exotic wood veneers, and metalwork hand-forged in the company's foundry.
Furniture Fashion has reported on some really sharp traditional beds this week from Burnhardt, and here is another outstanding canopy bed from Henredon. The St Regis collection is the newest knock out from a leader in American traditional furniture that throws any hint of cost cutting aside and creates the antiques of tomorrow. I would buy the St Regis bedroom set myself as it exudes a really masculine quality which gets inspiration from "turn-of-the-century gentlemen's clubs on both sides of the Atlantic." To pay homage to the original designs Henredon used mahogany, brass, leather, stone and rosewood to create the St Regis collection.
Inspired by the Cooper-Hewitt branch of the Smithsonian Institution Libraries, the Legacy Sleigh Bed will make late nights reading in bed a natural conclusion to a long day. Bernhardt which is one of Americas oldest family owned businesses knows all about history and quality that goes into their entire product line. The Legacy Sleigh Bed features 19th century Empire styling with curvaceous corner posts that join a curved headboard panel with square turned feet. This gorgeous bed room set features walnut and white ash burl veneers with a Heritage Brown finish and light burnishing details, aged bronze metal, and Nero Blanc marble.

Anything bearing the name Smithsonian better be bold and capable of holding its own against the critics. Bernhardt certainly has the history behind its reputation to back up this traditional yet casual collection with all the quality you should expect from one of America's best traditional furniture makers. The Smithsonian collection gets its inspiration from 18th and 19th century design with a touch of the West Indies and features pin knotty cherry veneers, acanthus leaf carving, solid brass hardware and Nero Blanc marble. I really like the simplistic lines of the armoire and night stands and their stark contrast to the intricate carvings of the posts of the canopy bed. Bernhardt also offers the Plantation poster bed in an equally attractive low post style.
Ashley furniture really is the brand to watch for outstanding design and value in today's often quality compromised market. Ashley is now North America's largest furniture brand specializing in traditional and contemporary furniture with a firm control on the entire production from the design stage to shipping in their own fleet of trucks. What does that mean to the consumer? Quality control, design consistency, and availability are all part of the Ashley experience. The entire collection covers all types of fabric and leather upholstery groups, bedroom furniture, dining tables and chairs, as well as a complete line of home furnishings for ever room of your. I really like the Hendler dining room collection which has a rich contemporary style that takes its influences from a beautiful and exotic high styled Asian design.
